Ingredients:
For the Bolognese sauce:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
500 g ground beef
1 can (400 g) peeled tomatoes or tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
Salt, black pepper and oregano to taste
1/2 cup water (if necessary)
For the white sauce (béchamel):
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons wheat flour
2 cups (480 ml) milk
Salt, black pepper and nutmeg to taste
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Assembly:
250 g lasagna noodles (pre-cooked or baked directly in the oven, according to the package)
300 g sliced mozzarella cheese
Grated Parmesan cheese for gratinating
Preparation method:
Prepare the Bolognese sauce:
Heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic. Add the ground beef and cook until golden brown. Add the tomatoes, paste and seasonings. Cook for 20 to 30 minutes on low heat.
Prepare the white sauce:
Melt the butter, add the flour and stir for 1 minute. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mix in the parmesan, if desired.
Assemble the lasagna:
In a baking dish, alternate layers of Bolognese sauce, pasta, white sauce and cheese. Repeat until all ingredients are used up, finishing with white sauce and parmesan.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30 to 40 minutes, until bubbling and browned.
Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Extra tip:
For a more intense flavor, add a little red wine to the meat sauce.
You can freeze individual portions for future consumption.
