Simple, tasty and comforting, Meatloaf is a classic dish that combines ground beef with seasonings and a delicious ketchup topping. Perfect for a family meal, easy to make and full of flavor!
Ingredients:
500g ground beef (can be mixed, such as beef and pork)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper (optional)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or breadcrumbs)
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Topping:
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional, for a sweet touch)
1 tablespoon mustard
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the meat mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, bell pepper, bread crumbs, egg, milk, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper.
Mix well until everything is incorporated. Shape the mixture: Spoon the meat mixture into the loaf pan, forming it into a loaf shape and smoothing the surface.
Make the topping: In a small bowl, mix the ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Spread over the meatloaf, covering the entire surface.
Bake: Bake for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through (the center should reach 165–165°F). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Bonus tip: For an extra flavorful touch, add chopped bacon to the meat mixture. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice and a green salad.
