Chocolate Chip Cookies

Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and filled with melted chocolate chunks, these classic cookies are perfect for any time of day!

Ingredients:

1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, at room temperature

3/4 cup (150 g) white sugar

3/4 cup (165 g) brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups (340 g) semisweet chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips, if you prefer)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until fluffy.

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla.

In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture and stir until incorporated.

Add the chocolate chips and mix with a spatula or spoon.

Using an ice cream scoop or regular spoon, drop portions of the batter onto the baking sheet, leaving space between them.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Extra tip:

For “tougher” cookies, remove from the oven when they are still slightly soft in the center.

You can add chopped nuts or replace part of the chocolate with white chocolate.
